Print this article Most sports video games feature current player on their covers, often celebrating an athlete who made waves the previous season. However, 2K Sports is taking things in a different direction for the release of NBA 2K12. IGN.com reports the popular game will feature three different covers this year, each paying tribute to legends of the game.
The main cover will feature the likeness of Michael Jordan, but gamers will also be able to purchase versions that include the images of Celtics great Larry Bird and Lakers star Magic Johnson for a limited time.
According to the website, the game developers have not yet revealed whether or not there will be options that will allow players to use Bird or Johnson, but the 2011 edition of the game came with the option to play as Jordan, so the chances are very likely.
Sports video games often give players some of the most realistic experiences available. In particularly, titles such as Madden NFL '11 for Playstation 3 and FIFA Soccer '11 for the Wii have been especially well-received.
