As an actor, David Schwimmer is likely best-known for his role as Ross Gellar on "Friends," but he has also made a name for himself as a director. His work behind the camera is on display in the drama "Trust," which has earned praise for its considerable emotional weight. The new release DVD hits shelves July 26.

A seemingly normal family's life becomes unhinged when 14-year-old Annie (Liana Liberato) has an illicit affair with a much older man. Her father Will (Clive Owen) and mother Lynn (Catherine Keener) both suffer mental anguish as a result of the police investigation, and their relationship begins to fall apart.

While Annie deals with the situation, her relationship with her friends and family becomes strained as well. As she becomes more and more depressed, she and her parents have to find a way out together.

The drama certainly does not sugarcoat anything as it gives viewers an unfettered view at the human psyche. Similar films have been some of the best movie in recent memory including "Half Nelson" and "The Machinist."
