'Hobo With a Shotgun' goes from fake trailer to real movie

The 2010 hit "Machete" began as fake trailer than ran during Quentin Tarantinos "Grindhouse." Turns out it wasn't the only fake trailer to get a real movie. "Hobo With a Shotgun," a throwback to action exploitation films, quickly became a cult favorite. Now, the new release DVD is hitting shelves on July 5. The movie follows a nameless hobo (Rutger Hauer), who arrives in the downtrodden Hope Town, which is ruled by a mob boss known as The Drake (Brian Downey) and his two sons. After getting beaten up by two of them, the Hobo decides to take matters into his own hands and clean up the corrupt town. Armed with a shotgun and aided by a prostitute named Abby (Molly Dunsworth) the hobo takes down the scum of Hope Town one-by-one, with the intent of taking out The Drake. This over-the-top action movie will certainly appeal to fans of gritty revenge thrillers such as "Law Abiding Citizen" and "Man on Fire."
