Print this article The cast of the upcoming “Superman” reboot is already pretty impressive, and it just got taken up a notch. According to The Huffington Post, director Zach Snyder has tapped Russell Crowe to play Jor-El, Superman’s biological father.
Crowe will be taking on a role played by Marlon Brando in the original “Superman” series, but there is no word on how significant of a part Jor-El will have this time around. However, Snyder has indicated that the movie, titled “Man of Steel” will differ significantly from the previous films.
"Literally, the one thing that everyone can start to think about is that we're making a movie that finally goes with the approach that there's been no other Superman movies," he told the Los Angeles Times.
The project stars Henry Cavill as Superman and features an impressive supporting cast including Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as General Zod.
Fans of superhero movies are likely eagerly awaiting the release of the film, but in the meantime they can get their fix with “Hellboy” and “Batman Begins.”
