Masi Oka rose to fame several years ago when he was cast in a lead role on the popular NBC series "Heroes," and it looks like he is headed back to TV. The Japanese-American actor recently told Entertainment Weekly that he has been given a regular role on the crime drama "Hawaii Five-O," whose second season begins this fall.

The series, a remake of the popular show that ran for 12 seasons from 1968 to 1980, debuted to a wide audience last fall. The police procedural drama stars "Entourage" actor Scott Caan and Alex O'Loughlin, and earned several Golden Globe and People's Choice nominations for its first season. Oka had a recurring role as a coroner on the show, and is certainly happy about his increased presence.

"I guess they will need more help from the coroner. I think he got a good response from viewers so they are looking to featuring him more," Oka told the news source recently.

Fans of "Hawaii Five-O" will definitely want to check out similar shows by way of TV on DVD. Crime dramas such as "Psych" and "Law and Order: SVU" are both good choices.
