The highly anticipated next chapter in the "Call of Duty" series, "Modern Warfare 3," is slated for a November 8 release date. According to the video game blog Kotaku, several details are beginning to emerge about the title which hint that it may be the popular series' most impressive installment yet.

Though nothing is confirmed, sources close to the game told the blog that the story will pick up right where "Modern Warfare 2" left off, tying up any loose ends that the cliffhanger ending may have created. The single-player plot will focus on sending gamers to different corners of the globe in various capacities, and will put players in cities ranging from Brooklyn to Mogadishu.

As for multi-player, the title is expected to have a long list of new playable maps, Kotaku reports, and a pair of new Spec Ops modes. The game will be the latest in the franchise since "Call of Duty: Black Ops," which became one of the highest selling titles of all time.

Players who enjoy first person shooters may also want to check out "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six" and "Sniper: Ghost Warrior."
