They may not have even hit theaters in the U.S. yet, but the upcoming superhero movies "Thor" and "Captain America" are both already set for sequels. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, recently spoke with Disney 23 Magazine. According to IGN.com he told the publication that there are big plans on the horizon for comic book movies.

Filming has begun on the much-anticipated flick "The Avengers," which is set for a 2012 release, but after that Feige said that the studio will focus on sequels of the upcoming films. Specifically, he said that the two movies will likely explore the titular characters in much greater detail.

"Thor will go off into a new adventure, and Captain America will continue to explore the modern world in another film of his own. We hope that holds true for the characters appearing in that film - Black Widow, Hawkeye and the spy organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. - all of whom are more than worthy and capable of carrying their own films," he reportedly told the magazine.

Action movies featuring comic book characters have been some of the most popular in recent years, with titles such as "Iron Man" and "The Dark Knight" becoming huge hits.
