"Resident Evil" has been one of the most popular survival horror video games of the last decade, but it has always shown the story from the same perspective. It looks as though that's about to change, as Capcom's latest release, "Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City," will be told from the viewpoint of different characters, Paste Magazine reports.

In years past, gamers have only been able to play as members of Alpha team - a group sent into Raccoon City to investigate mysterious disappearances. This time around, players will be able to embody the role of a different group of soldiers who have to battle not only zombies, but also a rival squad. This opens up to some dynamic multi-player action that developers say will be well-received by gamers.

"It feels a little more random, it feels a little more chaotic," lead producer Masachika Kawata told Kotaku.com."This is the thing that makes this a unique 'Resident Evil' experience."

The PlayStation 3 game is slated for a winter 2011 release and will certainly appeal to fans of similar titles such as "Silent Hill" and "F.E.A.R."
