Producer confirms 2012 release date of '24' movie

Though the series ended last year, it looks like fans of "24" may not yet have seen the last of Jack Bauer. While there had been hints at a movie starring the former government operative, nothing had been confirmed - but producer Brian Grazer said on his Twitter account recently that the action movie is slated for a 2012 release, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Throughout its nine year run, "24" was one of the most watched shows on TV. Keifer Sutherland earned significant praise for his turn as the roguish Bauer, and the show won numerous Emmy's including the statue for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. A made-for-TV movie, "24: Redemption," was released in 2008, but the feature length film would be a first. "Got off the phone Keifer yesterday and we are very excited about producing the ‘24' movie for next year," Grazer tweeted.
