Writers moving forward with third 'Bill and Ted' movie

More than 20 years ago, teenage slackers were given a pair of idols to worship after the release of "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure." The movie starred a fresh-faced Keanu Reeves and has since become a cult classic. Reeves recently spokes with MTV.com about a script that is currently in the works for a third "Bill and Ted" movie, and it appears it's close to being finished. The first hints at a third installment of the series popped up back in September when the 46-year-old "Speed" actor joked about the potential project. However, six months later it looks as if the script is well on its way to being completed by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the screenwriters of the original film. "I know a little bit. But I don't know - the fellas went off and cooked it up," Reeves told the website. "I don't know what happened when they put the elements together." The original film was released in 1989 and followed Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Reeves) through time-traveling escapades with the fate of mankind at stake. The movie was followed by the 1991 sequel "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey."
