Print this article After months of speculation, it appears as though NBC finally has its Wonder Woman. The iconic role went to Adrianne Palicki , who will star in the re-envisioning of the popular 1970s television show, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Palicki seems like the logical choice, as the "Friday Night Lights" star is a spitting image of the famous comic book heroine. The casting of Palicki ends a years-long struggle to assemble the program's cast. The original show starred Lynda Carter.
According to the publication, several writers and producers had attempted to get the show made, but were unsuccessful for different reasons. A number of people in Hollywood have also been pushing for a Wonder Woman movie. It's likely the film would have an audience, based on the glut of superhero flicks coming out this summer (Thor and Captain America, to name a few).
The casting of Palicki certainly gives the show a boost of star power, as she is also featured in upcoming projects, including a remake of the 1980s classic "Red Dawn," and recently starred in the thriller "Legion."
