Print this article Mayim Bialik has been off the public radar ever since her hit sitcom "Blossom" went off the air in the '90s, but it looks as though the talented woman is back in the limelight. According to Deadline.com, the performer was just offered a regular role on "The Big Bang Theory."
Bialik has appeared in a number of episodes so far this season as Amy Farrah Fowler, a friend and pseudo love-interest for the quirky and impossibly difficult Sheldon Cooper.
While Bialik was beloved by home audiences for years, the actress has committed herself to just a few film and television projects since her series went off the air. She went on to college at UCLA and now holds a PhD in neuroscience.
Audiences may also remember the 34-year-old from her winning performance 22 years ago in the cherished drama "Beaches," in which she played a younger version of Bette Midler's character, C.C. Bloom.
Bialik will next be appearing on the big screen in "The Chicago 8," a drama slated for release next year.
