Rooney Mara is electric in "A Nightmare on Elm Street"

It may not be long before Rooney Mara is a household name - the actress was recently chosen among thousands of starlets to play the title character in the upcoming remake of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." However, moviegoers will be happy to know that Mara has been performing in films for years. The blue-eyed beauty recently lent her talents to another much-adored remake, "A Nightmare on Elm Street." Following the same general plot line as the original 1984 Wes Craven slasher film, the story chronicles Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley), a serial killer who hunts his victims down in their dreams. The monster with a glove made of razor blades soon sets his sights on murdering Nancy (Mara) and her closeknit group of friends. While Mara is currently shooting "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," home audiences may enjoy a viewing her other projects. She also made an appearance in "Youth in Revolt" and can currently be seen in "The Social Network."
