Kids will go crazy for "Diary of a Wimpy Kid"

Children's films run the gamut nowadays, but few are quite as fun and touching as "Diary of a Wimpy Kid." The movie, which is based on the books of the same name by Jeff Kinney, will luckily be available for purchase August 3. The film centers on Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon), a 12-year-old boy who is in his first year of middle school. He has a best friend named Rowley Jefferson (Robert Capron), and an obnoxious older brother, Rodrick (Devon Bostick). Greg enters school thinking he'll be popular, but his social status soon dwindles. Along the way, he tries to make new friends but winds up losing his very best pal. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" isn't the only film which touches upon the theme of feeling like an outsider. In fact, "How to Eat Fried Worms," which was also based on a bestselling book, tells the story of a fifth grader who is bullied at school.
