Disney set to produce a movie based on the Haunted Mansion ride

Guillermo del Toro may have turned down the chance to helm "The Hobbit," but the acclaimed "Pan's Labyrinth" director is already working on another gig. According to The Hollywood Reporter, del Toro is set to co-write and produce a film based on Disney's infamous Haunted Mansion ride. "It's going to be a thrill ride for the whole family but it's definitely going to be scary," he told the new source. "[Walt] Disney is one of the creators of some of the scariest images in my childhood. People forget that he not only made sweet images but also images of nightmare. We need to honor that side of the legacy." Although Hollywood has been disappointing some moviegoers with their spate of strange film adaptations, certain cinema enthusiasts may be excited for the project.
