Linda Hamilton joins cast of "Chuck"

Fans of the beloved NBC show "Chuck" may be excited by this bit of news - according to Entertainment Weekly, Linda Hamilton, best known as Sarah Connor from "The Terminator," has been cast as Chuck's mom. "We're always looking for guest stars who will be great in the part, but who also speak to our audience and feel like it comes out of the universe of our show," executive producer Josh Schwartz told the news source. "Chuck," now in its fourth season, centers on a computer whiz-kid who receives an email message that subliminally implements government secrets into his brain. After that, he goes on to work for the CIA. While the show has been struggling throughout the years, it has also accrued a cult following. In fact, fans of the series recently coordinated a Save Chuck campaign, which ultimately saved it from cancellation. For now, it looks like Schwartz couldn't be happier that Hamilton is joining the action-comedy. "Obviously her body of work was important to us, but also knowing what this part was and the intensity that we were going to need from someone, Linda was a natural fit," he told the news outlet.
