Loosely based on the famous Greek myth, the film follows Perseus (Sam Worthington) as he attempts to save the beautiful Princess Andromeda (Alexa Davalos). Perseus was raised by humans but born to a god.
It isn't long before the young warrior assembles a team of brave men in order to save the world. Along the way he deals with his father, Zeus (Liam Neeson), and god of the underworld, Hades (Ralph Fiennes). As the war rages on, the young fighter soon learns that he can only defeat his enemies if he accepts his god-like status.
The original "Clash of the Titans" was an enormous success when it was released in 1981. In fact, it accrued more than $41 million in ticket sales domestically, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. It wound up being the 11th highest grossing film that year.
