Angelina Jolie is currently making the media rounds to promote her upcoming thriller, "Salt," but she didn't hesitate to give details on another role she's rumored to be preparing for - Cleopatra.

The Academy Award winner spoke with Entertainment Weekly and gave them the inside scoop about the film.

"I would be honored. I'm fascinated by her. I love history, and I love that part of the world, but we haven't gotten the script yet so we we'll see if there is something that's good enough, and then we'll try to make it," Jolie told the news outlet.

There have been countless screen depictions of the iconic Egyptian queen, but perhaps the 1963 drama "Cleopatra," which starred Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, is the most famous. The film went on to win four Oscars.

Surprisingly, Jolie admits that she's a little hesitant to fill Taylor's shoes.

"I'm not sure I could top Elizabeth Taylor. I don't know that anybody could be better [playing Cleopatra] than Elizabeth Taylor," she told the news source.ADNFCR-2673-ID-19903303-ADNFCR
