Fans of "Damages" can rejoice - although the show's original network, FX, threatened to cancel the show, DirecTV has saved the legal drama from the chopping block, according to E! Online.

"We're excited to partner with Sony Pictures Television as we breathe new life into this outstanding drama," Patty Ishimoto, vice president of entertainment for DirecTV, told the press. "It's a win for our customers."

The news is certainly welcome by fan of the series. Aside from garnering much praise throughout its three-year-run, the show has won countless Emmy Awards.

"Damages is simply one of the best shows on television, and we're grateful to DirecTV for the opportunity to produce more episodes of this groundbreaking show," Jamie Erlicht, president of programming and production for Sony Pictures Television, said to the press.

Home audiences who adore legal dramas may also get a kick out of "The Practice" and "Law & Order." However, those who are yearning for a comedy may want to take in a few episodes of "Ally McBeal," a hilarious look at the more laughable side of the law.ADNFCR-2673-ID-19901958-ADNFCR
