"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" number one at the box office

It looks like there is no end in sight to the vampire craze. According to Entertainment Weekly, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" won the box office race this past Independence Day weekend after taking in $175 million after six full days in theaters. However, it should be noted that ticket sales fell slightly short of the last chapter in the beloved series. In fact, "New Moon" accrued $178 million six days after its initial release. Coming in second place was M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender," which took in $70 million in its first five days on the silver screen. The movie's three-day gross, which totaled $40 million, was the third-highest grossing project for "The Sixth Sense" director, coming in behind "Signs" and "The Village." The news source also reports that "Toy Story 3" grossed over $42 million in four days, helping it cross the $300 million mark. It is now officially the second highest-grossing Pixar film at the moment, only coming in behind "Finding Nemo."
