Print this article The third season finale of "Breaking Bad" must have left a strong impression on audiences and television executives. According to Entertainment Weekly, the thrilling drama has already been picked up for a fourth season.
"The critical acclaim and strong audience growth we've seen in season three reinforce that this is the kind of exceptional original storytelling AMC has become known for providing to audiences," Joel Stillerman, senior vice president of original programming, said in a statement.
"Breaking Bad" follows the journey of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. With mounting health bills and a new baby on the way, Walt decides to make and sell methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul).
Although the dark series seems to be taking off at the moment, home audiences may recognize the lead actors from extremely different roles. Cranston also played dad Hal on the witty comedy "Malcolm in the Middle," while Paul is best known by fans of the HBO drama "Big Love" as Sarah Henrickson's boyfriend, Scott.
