Print this article Will Smith is reportedly one of the most bankable Hollywood actors at the moment, and it looks like his son may soon be following in his footsteps.
The young performer led the action adventure remake of "The Karate Kid," which led the box office race this past weekend, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film grossed over $56 million, beating out the reboot of "The A-Team," which boasted A-list actors Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper.
Smith stars in the film as Dre Parker, a 12 year old kid who moves to Beijing, China with his mom, Sherry (Taraji P. Henson). There he meets Mr Han, a martial arts master who teaches him the ways of kung fu.
Smith has had a bright career thus far. Aside from winning rave reviews after playing opposite his father in "The Pursuit of Happyness," he also appeared in "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and an episode of "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody."
