The 19th annual MTV Movie Awards took place in Los Angeles last night, and the affair turned out to be a success. Appearances by Sandra Bullock and Betty White solidified the ceremony as one of the most talked-about in the music station's history.

Hosted by Aziz Ansari, who currently stars on the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation," the awards show bestowed most of its prizes to the current pop culture phenomenon film, "Twilight."

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" won Best Movie, while Robert Pattinson received top honors for Best Male Performance and Kristen Stewart took home the statuette for Best Female Performance.

In addition, the pair also won Best Kiss and Pattinson was honored with the Global Superstar award.

Other nominees who were honored with the golden popcorn statue last night were Zach Galifianakis for Best Comedic Performance in "The Hangover" as well as Sandra Bullock. The starlet, who has been absent from public life since her marriage went awry, took home the MTV Generation Award.

White, who starred with Bullock in "The Proposal," was also a presenter during the evening.ADNFCR-2673-ID-19823329-ADNFCR
