Print this article Tim Burton and Johnny Depp aren't the only buddies entertaining audiences these days. In fact, "Shutter Island," which will be released on DVD June 8, marks Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese's fourth on-screen collaboration.
Set in Massachusetts in 1954, the film centers on Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio), a federal marshal who is investigating a prison for the criminally insane. He is given the task of uncovering the truth about Rachel Solando (Emily Mortimer), a crazy woman who murdered her three children.
It isn't long before the island is rampaged by a hurricane, hindering Daniels' efforts. His attempt to discover the fate of the patients at the institution becomes further complicated by the mysterious Dr Cawley (Ben Kingsley).
While moviegoers adored "Shutter Island," Scorsese and DiCaprio's past films may be even more beloved. In fact, "The Aviator" was nominated for an Academy Award in 2005, and the 2006 intense drama "The Departed" won the Oscar that year.
Scorsese is currently working on "The Invention of Hugo Cabret," which is due in theaters next December.
