(We do not collect these names or emails!)While Quentin Tarantino has officially announced that there will be a third chapter in the "Kill Bill" franchise, the director has no interest in penning a prequel to "Jackie Brown." However, JoBlo.com reports that another screenwriter will attempt the huge undertaking.
Writer Dan Schechter is reportedly pairing up with producer Michael Siegel to bring "The Switch" to the big screen. The film will be based on the novel of the same name by Elmore Leonard, who also wrote "Rum Punch," the inspiration for Tarantino's classic action-drama.
"The Switch" originated the characters Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson) and Louis Gara (Robert De Niro), who were friends and partners in crime in "Jackie Brown."
Although Tarantino will not be involved with the project, the legendary director hasn't hesitated to share his adoration for Leonard's work.
"He was probably the biggest influence on my life: I have been reading Leonard since I was 14 and got caught stealing his novel 'The Switch' from K-Mart," he told The Telegraph in February.
Tarantino is universally famous for writing and directing the mega-hits "Pulp Fiction" and "Reservoir Dogs."
