"Sex and the City 2" in theaters tonight

"Sex and the City 2" just hit theaters, and fans of the franchise can't wait. The film is expected to beat out other weekend releases by a landslide. Picking up where the last chapter left off, "Sex and the City 2" once again follows the adventures of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York (Kristen Davis). In the sequel, Carrie and Big's marriage has hit a roadblock and the other ladies are also dissatisfied with their lives. After Samantha gets offered the chance to fly to Abu Dhabi, the girls tag along and find themselves entangled in some hilarious misadventures. Between the three-day weekend and the loyalty of female moviegoers to the franchise, the film is expected to do exceedingly well. In fact, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Studios has said that there has already been $2 million in ticket sales. Parker recently appeared in "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" and "Smart People."
