Megan Fox will not be appearing in "Transformers 3"

Rumors were swirling yesterday that Megan Fox had not been offered a part in "Transformers 3," and it looks like the casting news may now be official. According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, a source admitted that Shia LaBeouf, who plays the film's protagonist, Sam Witwicky, will have "a new love interest" that "makes more sense for the story." However, while the studio maintains it was their decision to leave Fox out of "Transformers 3," the actress' representative begs to differ. "It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best," Fox's publicist said in a statement. The first two "Transformers" films were highly successful for director Michael Bay, as their worldwide combined gross totaled over $1.5 billion. Fox might not have much to worry about, as the popular actress currently has five films slated for release over the next two years. The starlet was also recently cast as the lead in the horror film "Jennifer's Body," which was written by Diablo Cody.
