Print this article Keanu Reeves is set to star in "Passengers," a film produced by Morgan Creek Productions. The film, a futuristic love story, is being described as an Adam and Eve tale set in space, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
"We are like a small studio and there are few people doing films in this sort of budget range outside of the Hollywood studios," the production company's founder, James Robinson, told the press.
"Passengers" will tell the story of Jim Preston (Reeves), a mechanic who embarks on a 120 year journey to another galaxy. When his sleeping pod fails, he decides to wake journalist Aurora from hibernation. The pair fall in love, but must soon deal with the malfunctioning spaceship.
"I think of the picture as having the after-taste of 'Titanic' - but everyone lives," Robinson said.
Reeves was most recently seen in the drama "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee," as well as the sci-fi thriller "The Day the Earth Stood Still."
