It looks like moviegoers may prefer superheroes over swordsmen. "Iron Man 2" came in first in the box office race this past weekend, grossing $53 million, according to E! Online. "Robin Hood" placed second, with $37.1 in ticket sales.

This was the second week in a row that "Iron Man 2" was the top choice for audiences. Last weekend, the Robert Downey Jr movie took in over $128 million domestically.

Other films didn't fare as well as projected. The Amanda Seyfried romance "Letters to Juliet" only grossed $13.8 million, while Queen Latifah's new comedy, "Just Wright," claimed $8.5 million, according to the news source.

"Iron Man" is shaping up to be an immensely successful franchise, as the original film grossed over $318 million worldwide.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently commented that a third installment of the series is being planned.

"We do have a contract with Robert Downey Jr to do it, and it will come after 'The Avengers,'" he told the press.ADNFCR-2673-ID-19782220-ADNFCR
