Brendan Fraser is heartbreaking in "Extraordinary Measures"

Fans of Brendan Fraser will love him in "Extraordinary Measures." The drama, which also stars former "Felicity" star Keri Russell, will be released on DVD on May 18. Based on a true story, Fraser stars as John Crowley, a biotechnology executive who seems to have it all. One day, his two young children are diagnosed with Pompe Disease, an illness which is ultimately fatal. Undeterred, Crowley quits his job in order to find a cure. He and his wife, Aileen (Russell), form a company and raise money for research scientist Dr Robert Stonehill (Harrison Ford). Stonehill and Crowley soon become close as they realize their own reasons for developing the new drug. Fraser has been busy lately. The versatile actor, who shot to fame after his performance in "School Ties," most recently appeared in the family adventure "Inkheart" as well "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor."
