It looks like moviegoers' taste for vampires is going strong. "Daybreakers," another film that centers on the mysterious fanged creatures, will be released on DVD on May 11.

The story takes place in 2019, when a virus has caused most of the human population to morph into vampires. Dr Edward Dalton (Hawke), a hematologist, spends his days engineering an artificial blood supply to keep up with the vampires' high demand.

When he meets Elvis (Willem Dafoe), a former bloodsucking creature who discovered a way to turn back into a human, Dalton's outlook on the world's situation drastically changes.

"Daybreakers" also stars Sam Neill as Charles Bromley, the head of a pharmaceutical company, and Isabel Lucas as Alison, Charles' human daughter.

Hawke currently has many projects in the works. He is set to appear as Starbuck in the miniseries "Moby Dick," and stars alongside Connie Nielsen in the drama "Tonight at Noon."

The versatile actor recently received rave reviews for his performance in the thriller "Before the Devil Knows Your Dead."ADNFCR-2673-ID-19760794-ADNFCR
