Print this article It looks like Jimmy Fallon's transition from movie star to television host may be a successful one. The former Saturday Night Live actor, who now has his own talk show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, has been confirmed as the host of the 62nd Emmy Awards.
Variety reports that Fallon will lend his comedic skills to the telecast, which will be broadcast live on both the east and west coasts for the first time in decades.
"Jimmy has many talents. He can sing, he can dance, he does impersonations, and he does it gracefully and with ease," executive producer Don Mischer told the press. "I think he'll make a terrific host and we are really looking forward to working with him."
Former hosts of the Emmys include Conan O'Brien, Ellen DeGeneres and Garry Shandling. Last year's master of ceremonies was "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris.
"Hosting the Emmys has been a dream of mine ever since they told me I was doing it," Fallon said in a statement to the press.
