The second season of "Sanctuary," the popular science fiction series that has wooed audiences on Sify channel, will be released on DVD on June 15. The first season will also be available on Blu-ray on the same day.

"Sanctuary" tells the story of a group of scientists, led by Dr Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping), a 158-year-old English scientist. She and her team have dedicated their lives to researching non-human creatures, known as abnormals.

In the second season, the show follows forensic psychiatrist Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne) as he adjusts to working at the Sanctuary. Other episodes focus on a string of robberies that the team investigates, as well as Helen surviving a plane crash in the mountains.

"Sanctuary," which began as a Canadian web series, was picked up by the Sify channel because of its huge fan base.

However, this isn't the first time a show from the country has made waves in the United States. The Canadian drama "Being Erica" can now be seen on the Soap Channel, and the comedy-drama series, "Slings and Arrows," made its way to The Sundance Channel years ago.
