"Beastly" trailer now available online

The trailer for "Beastly" is now available online, and it looks like it's going to be a crowd-pleaser. The drama, which stars former "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens, is a remake of "Beauty and the Beast." The fantasy romance centers on Kyle Kingson (Alex Pettyfer), who is a good-looking and wealthy high school teenager. When he invites unattractive Goth Kendra Hilferty (Mary-Kate Olsen) to the high school dance as a joke, she casts a spell on him for revenge. As Kyle's looks are magically taken away from him, he holes himself up in his apartment because he's embarrassed. When he realizes that in order to break the spell he must have someone love him for his personality, he attempts to charm Lindy Taylor (Vanessa Hudgens), the daughter of a drug addict. Meanwhile, Kyle also befriends his maid, Zola (Lisa Gay Hamilton) and his blind tutor, Will Fratalli (Neil Patrick Harris). Hudgens seems to be breaking away from the "High School Musical" character she made famous, Gabriella Montez. She also appeared in the film "Bandslam," which was recently released on DVD.
