Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stars in "Tooth Fairy," which will be released on DVD on May 4. The comedy, which is rated PG, is a perfect movie selection for parents and children.

The film centers on Derek Thompson (Johnson), a minor league hockey player who is nicknamed The Tooth Fairy. His moniker refers to his tendency to knock his opponents teeth out during games.

Derek's life is turned upside down one night when he steals a dollar from Tess (Destiny Whitlock), the six-year-old daughter of his girlfriend, Carly (Ashley Judd). After he wakes up the next morning, he realizes he has been summoned to work as an actual tooth fairy for two weeks.

Johnson, a former wrestler, has experienced a surge in his acting career lately. He recently lent his voice to the role of Captain Charles T. Baker in "Planet 51" and also appeared in "Race to Witch Mountain" as the character Jack Bruno.

The actor's next film, "The Other Guys," will be released in theaters this December.
