"Avatar," James Cameron's billion-dollar grossing film, is now available on DVD. Cameron purposely planned for the movie's release to coincide with Earth Day.

The film tells the story of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a disabled marine who lives in the year 2154. When Jake travels to the planet Pandora, he meets and falls in love with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), a native of the Na'vi tribe.

Audiences are likely to be eager to get their hands on a copy of the blockbuster as soon as possible. However, two more DVD versions are scheduled to be released. In November, a version with bonus material will be available, and another "Avatar" in 3D will reportedly hit shelves in 2011.

Cameron also spoke with the LA Times about his plans for "Avatar 2."

"Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment - a different setting within Pandora - and I'm going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won't be a rainforest," he told the news source.ADNFCR-2673-ID-19737758-ADNFCR
