Zac Efron to star in remake of Swedish movie

It looks like Zac Efron, the actor who skyrocketed to fame after playing the jock-turned-drama student Troy Bolton in "High School Musical," is hoping to break into more adult roles. The talented performer has signed on to star and produce a remake of the film "Snabba Cash," a thriller which was a box office success in Sweden. "Snabba Cash" tells the story of a young man hoping to gain money and success by working as a drug runner. The thriller follows three interconnected storylines based around drugs and organized crime. The Swedish film was adapted from the bestselling novel by Jens Lapidus, and was adored by both critics and audiences. "Snabba Cash" means Easy Money in Swedish. Efron is an in-demand actor these days. The blue-eyed heartthrob recently appeared in comedy-drama "17 Again," as well as the period-drama "Me and Orson Wells."
