(We do not collect these names or emails!)"Kick-Ass," which stars former "Superbad" star Christopher Mintz-Plasse, won the box office race this weekend. The comedy grossed $19.8 million in total, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The news source also reports that the film just edged out the critically-adored audience favorite "How to Train Your Dragon," which took in $19.6 million at the box office this past weekend. This was the fourth weekend the animated film has been in theaters.
"Kick-Ass" tells the story of an unpopular high school student named Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), who decides he wants to become a superhero. The film also stars Nicolas Cage as the character Big Daddy.
It looks it was a successful weekend for Mintz-Plasse, as the actor also lent his voice to "How to Train Your Dragon" as the character Fishlegs Ingerman.
The geeky guy also appeared in the film "Year One" and has been cast in "Marmaduke," which will be released in theaters this year.
