"Letters to God" will be released on April 9

"Letters to God," which will be released in theaters on April 9, was directed by David Nixon and Patrick Doughtie. The inspirational drama centers on a young child struggling with a life-threatening disease. The film's protagonist is Tyler Doherty (Tanner Maguire), an eight-year-old boy who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. Supported by family and friends, Tyler remains positive about his illness. However, he finds comfort in writing letters to God to tell him what he is going through. Eventually, the letters make their way to postman Brady McDaniels (Jeffrey Johnson). Brady, who is dealing with his own alcoholism and a recent divorce, is conflicted about what to do with the messages. He eventually befriends Tyler and his family and finds strength in their struggle. "Letters to God" is an inspirational movie that has a strong Christian message. The film deals with positivity and keeping hope alive. Big Hollywood reports that the film is based on Doughtie's experiences. His own son, Tyler, fought the disease.
