Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law star in "Sherlock Holmes"

"Sherlock Holmes" will be released on DVD next week, and fans of murder and suspense films can't wait. The thrilling movie was a hit in theaters last year. Directed by Guy Richie, and starring award-winning actors Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, "Sherlock Holmes" is based on the characters made famous by author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The film follows Holmes (Downey Jr) and his partner Dr John Watson (Law) as they investigate a series of murders in London. The sleuths capture serial killer Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong) and believe they have solved the case. However, when Blackwood returns seemingly from the dead, Holmes and Watson must continue in their investigation and put an end to the occult ritual murders plaguing the city. With quick-witted dialogue and fast-paced direction, "Sherlock Holmes" has received much critical praise. In fact, the film was nominated for two Academy Awards. Moviegoers also appreciated the film, as "Sherlock Holmes" grossed over $200 million at the box office worldwide. Richie is currently in pre-production for a sequel.
