Zach Braff announces the end of "Scrubs"

"Scrubs," the wacky medical sitcom that has attracted a huge fan base over the years, will officially come to an end, according to one of the actors on the show. Zach Braff, the spunky guy who starred in the series for over eight years, announced on his Facebook page that the comedy's current season will be its last. "Many of you have asked, so here it is: it appears that 'New Scrubs,' 'Scrubs 2.0,' 'Scrubs with new kids,' 'Scrubbier,' 'Scrubs without JD' is no more," Braff said. "Scrubs," now in its ninth season, has followed the adventures of emergency room physicians and best friends J.D. and Turk as they blossomed from interns to doctors at Sacred Heart Teaching Hospital. The show is beloved by viewers for its slapstick comedy and outrageous situations. The show has undergone some notable changes recently. For its ninth season, the format switched from having J.D. as the central character and narrator to focusing on Lucy (Kerry Bishé), a socially-awkward medical student. Braff spoke about the recent adjustments to the sitcom on his Facebook page. "It was worth a try, but alas... it didn't work," he said. Braff also wrote and directed the hit film "Garden State."
