Print this article "Brothers," a film directed by Oscar-nominated director Jim Sheridan and starring three of Hollywood's biggest actors, will be released on DVD March 23.
The drama tells the story of Sam Cahill (Tobey Maguire), a marine who is about to embark on his fourth tour of duty. Sam is married to his high school sweetheart Grace (Natalie Portman) and the couple has two daughters together. Sam also has a brother, Tommy (Jake Gyllenhaal), a tough guy who has recently been released from prison.
The film takes an interesting turn when Sam's helicopter crashes after he's deployed to Afghanistan. Although Tommy and Grace assume he's dead and begin grieving, they also discover there may be an unspoken attraction between them.
"Brothers" was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, including Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for Maguire. It was recently announced that the "Spider-Man" star will not be reprising his role as the arachnid do-gooder in the next installment in the franchise.
Sheridan has been nominated for several Oscars for his work on films such as "In America," and "My Left Foot."
