Matt Damon may portray Robert Kennedy in biographical film

There has been much speculation that Boston-native Matt Damon is about to sign on to play Robert Kenney in a bio-pic about the politician's life. The film will be based on the biography "Robert Kennedy: His Life" written by Evan Thomas. The book explores the enigmatic public figure, who was deeply involved in historical events like the civil rights movement and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Rumored to be attached to the project are director Gary Ross and screenwriter Steven Knight, according to MTV.com. Ross has directed other films such as "Seabiscuit" and "Pleasantville" and Knight has worked on critical successes like "Eastern Promises" and "Dirty Pretty Things." The film would tell the story of Robert Kennedy's upbringing and political experiences until his tragic and untimely death during his 1968 presidential campaign. According to Eonline.com, the talented actor has not yet signed onto the project because he is waiting to read the final version of script, which is not yet completed.
