Amanda Seyfried to star in the next Catherine Hardwicke film?

It's rumored that Seyfried is favored to play the heroine in a retelling of "Little Red Riding Hood." Catherine Hardwicke, the director who helmed the controversial film "Thirteen" as well as the first "Twilight" film has reportedly signed on to direct "The Girl With the Red Riding Hood," a modern version of the classic fairy tale that, instead of a personified wolf, features a werewolf. That's right – just in case the epic "Twilight Saga" and "The Wolfman" weren't enough, moviegoers can expect another film about werewolves to hit the theaters. It is rumored that Amanda Seyfried, who first made a name for herself as the ditzy Karen Smith in "Mean Girls" and can currently be seen in the blockbuster "Dear John," is being courted to star in the film, which is, of course, a romance between a human girl and a big bad werewolf. Seyfried has also appeared in "Mama Mia" and the HBO original series "Big Love." The story is described as a gothic retelling of the original tale, but with a teenage love triangle at its center.
