"Ponyo" is a touching story loosely based on "The Little Mermaid" that follows a goldfish named Brunhilda who makes friends with a 5-year-old boy, and wishes to become a human girl.

The animated film won the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year.

The fish Brunhilda lives in an underwater castle in an aquarium, and yearns to have a little more adventure in her life. When Brunhilda's father takes her and her siblings on an outing, Brunhilda sneaks away and winds up in the waters near a small fishing town in Japan.

When she meets a human boy, Sosuke, who renames her Ponyo, her life is forever changed and she becomes obsessed with being a human.

The film is filled with magic and engaging characters, and audiences of all ages will be able to appreciate the sweet love story and breathtaking animation that "Ponyo" offers.

In addition to a lively story, viewers might recognize a few of the characters' voices, as Tina Fey, Cate Blanchett and Lily Tomlin all lent their talents to the dubbed version of the film.

Those who liked other animated films such as "The Princess and the Frog" or "Spirited Away" will enjoy "Ponyo."ADNFCR-2673-ID-19609362-ADNFCR
