Print this article Tolkien fans who are waiting with bated breath for Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" can ease their anticipation by checking out the talented director's latest offering, "The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy Extended Edition."
Moviegoers can get their fill of Frodo Baggins, Aragorn, Samwise Gamgee, Legolas and Gandolf in the extended versions of their favorite epic films. In addition to even more breathtaking shots and suspenseful scenes, the new package offers four discs per movie - two for the extended version of each film, and two more full of insightful commentary and behind-the-scenes footage.
The films follow the journey of Frodo Baggins, a young hobbit who lived a quiet and comfortable life until the wizard Gandalf pays him a visit. Gandolf reveals that the small gold ring that Frodo's uncle Bilbo bestowed upon him is full of sinister power. Gandolf convinces Frodo to make the voyage to a faraway land in order to destroy the ring.
Those who enjoyed the Academy Award winning trilogy are sure to love all of the bonus features of "The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy Extended Edition."
