Matt Damon appears in "The Informant!"

Matt Damon plays Mark Whitacre, an Archer Daniels Midland executive who blew the whistle on his own company. Whitacre spent years wearing a wire and collecting evidence for the FBI, but all the while was embezzling nearly $9 million from the company. When the FBI enlisted the help of Whitacre, they were unaware that he suffered from bipolar disorder. The film chronicles Whitacre's strange and unexpected behavior throughout the investigation and the eventual demise of his company. Directors Steven Soderbergh and Peter Andrews managed to convey the full impact of the price-fixing scheme, while also creating a darkly funny film. Damon was nominated for a Golden Globe award for his performance in the film, and some speculate that he might get an Oscar nod as well. Fans of other films based on corporate scandals, such as "Michael Clayton" and "The Boiler Room" will enjoy "The Informant!"
