Print this article Are your spidey-senses tingling? Fans of the "Spider-Man" franchise are likely to have mixed feelings over the latest movie rumors, which claim that director Sam Raimi and actor Tobey Maguire have both pulled out of "Spider-Man 4."
The film might now head in a different direction than previously planned. Audiences will again find Peter Parker as a lonely high school student with some startling abilities.
Kirsten Dunst and John Malkovich were both slated to appear in the fourth installment of the series as well, but the new source reports that both parties will most likely not appear in the film.
Maguire became a household name when he signed on to play the masked crime fighter, but he has since gone on to star in more serious movies such as the horseracing film "Seabiscuit" and the World War II flick "The Good German."
MTV.com reports that Joseph Gordon-Levitt of "(500) Days of Summer" and Patrick Fugit of "Almost Famous" are being considered as possible replacements for Maguire.
