(We do not collect these names or emails!)Viewers seem to adore Showtime's hilarious and quirky series "Weeds," which has become somewhat of a pop-culture phenomenon.
The series follows Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker), a wealthy woman in southern California who begins to sell marijuana as a way to maintain her affluent lifestyle when her husband suddenly passes away from a heart attack.
After watching a few episodes, it might be difficult not to become invested in the fate of the lovable family.
Nancy has two sons, Shane and Silas. Her brother-in-law Andy, played by
Justin Kirk of the HBO miniseries "Angels in America," moves in to help with the boys at the start of season one.
Though the show has taken many twists and turns, it has always kept its audience on the edge of their seats. Season five opens with the Botwins in a tight spot Nancy is pregnant with a Mexican drug lord's baby, and Andy has just professed his love for her. The family must decide if they are going to stay in California and face their problems or head out on the lamb.
Fans of other character-based series, like "Californication" and "Big Love" might like "Weeds."
Season five of the show will be released on DVD January 19.
