"Youth in Revolt" hits theaters this Friday

The star-studded comedy follows Nick Twisp (Michael Cera), an awkward young man who falls in love with Sheeni Saunders (played by Portia Doubleday), an uninhibited girl who doesn't return his affections. To win her love, Nick decides that he's going to embrace his alter-ego, Francois, a mustachioed bad-boy who will stop at nothing to impress Sheeni. Also appearing in the film are Zach Galifianakis and Ray Liotta as two of the men who are dating Nick's mother, played by Jean Smart. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September of 2009, but will be released in theaters on January 8 of this year. The movie is based on the novel of the same name, written by C.D. Payne. Fans who have enjoyed Cera's other comedies, like the buddy flick "Superbad" or "Year One," in which Cera appeared opposite Jack Black, are sure to like "Youth In Revolt." "Youth in Revolt" was directed by Miguel Arteta, who has also helmed episodes of "The Office" and the critically-acclaimed but short-lived series "Freaks and Geeks."
